JeromeDL is unlike any other digital library. It is a semantic digital library. It was meant from the very first day we started working on it to be so. And for us - it was always about answering the question whyy two worlds, i.e., digital libraries community and the semantic web community, so similar were so much far apart.
But not any more. Behold, as JeromeDL is changing the way you will think about digital libraries. First, we work to make sure that resources stored in JeromeDL are "understood" by other systems through semantic web technologies. Then, we work hard to make JeromeDL speak your language. And finally, we believe in communities, social networks of people using the Internet. And so JeromeDL, can help you in collaborative filtering what you read, and share your knowledge with your friends.
JeromeDL aims to comply with more and more standards of the Second Generation Internet, like, e.g., RDF, DublinCore, BibTeX, MARC21, RSS, Microformats, FOAF, eRDF. With a lot more coming soon, e.g., SIOC, or DOAC.
We hope you will enjoy using the system wheather you are an average user or a librarian.
