JeromeDL is a Social Semantic Digital Library. As a digital library, it allows institutions to easily publish documents on the Web. It supports a variety of document formats and allows to store and query a rich bibliographic description of each document. To find relevant documents in JeromeDL users can use searching and browsing features. Whole documents content can be searched through, as well as single fields of the documents description, like author or publish year. Users can also find documents by rowsing content of subject categories and keywords. With JeromeDL's social and semantic services every library user can bookmark interesting books, articles or other materials in semantically annotated directories. Users can allow others to see their bookmarks and annotations and share their knowledge within a social network. JeromeDL can also treat a single library resource as a blog post. Users can comment the content of the resource and reply to others' comments and this way create new knowledge.

It seems that our page lacked the support section, which is accessible from the menu now. At the same time we wish to introduce the commercial support for JeromeDL. It will be provided by Knowledge Hives, a company creating solutions and technologies for the Semantic Web . This partnership was formed for those of you who lacked the more dedicated support to the project. |

Thanks to the agreement with Digital Enterprise Research Institute and Gdansk University of Technology we were able to change the License used by JeromeDL. We use the new BSD license (please refer to the License section for more details) from now on. At the same time we hope that the new License will attract new developers and will draw in more customers to the system in the near future.
JeromeDL 2.1 and 3.0 will have their files updated with new licenses soon. |

I'm proud to announce that we have released an early version of JeromeDL 3.0. You can download it directly from the trunk on our SVN repository. For more information regarding installation refer to the documentation section.
The two most important changes implemented so far are the new RDF abstraction layer and introduction of the new ontologies. The usage of RDF2Go will allow to use other RDF frameworks (currently avaliable Jena and Sesame). New Marcont ontology covers more meta-data information and the new structure ontology supports more complex library objects.
Before the relase of the final version we want to provide new component for resources upload, as the old one does not support new ontologies.
JeromeDL 3.0 will support FOAFRealm 2.0 and SSCF 2.0. |

We are finishing work on the new ontology for JeromeDL. As you all know, it is one of the most important issues before releasing new version of JeromeDL. That's why, we decided to publish the working draft in order to get feedback from outside. Any comments are highly appreciated. You can find links to ontologies and their specifications in the documentation section.
